The ISPAs are unique awards. They recognise best practice and innovation in the Internet and application service provider industries and reflect the broad nature of the service provider sector.
The judges look for the ISPs that demonstrate exceptionally high standards in a number of different criteria including quality of ASP applications, level of support services, best value access prices and customer testimonials. Telewest's service excelled in these categories, storming ahead of category rivals iomart, Plusnet and Star Telecom.
Telewest Business was commended for offering a new level of functionality for business, replacing traditional methods of working with fast, easily accessible, collaborative working for seamless information management.
The judges said '[It] was seen to be a clear I.T. utility offering with a low cost entry point. It was felt to be a sensible bundling of basic services and 'future proof' in this volatile market.'
