General Info
This application needs to be installed and run on each computer that requires access to the Hosted Exchange Server.
When setting up a PC thats on a network you will need to be logged in as the admin user in order to change the hosts file as the user will not have suitable privileges to do this.
If the customer runs the CCT they may get an error saying that they cant update the hosts file because they dont have permission or it is already in use by another process.
The customer should follow these steps to get around the problem:
|
|
|
|
|
login as the admin user on the machine
run the CCT
log on as the user
run the CCT but un-tick the option to update the hosts file
Open Outlook they should be able to login normally now |

What does the CCT do?
The Client Configuration Tool or CCT configures a profile within Outlook to work with your hosted Microsoft Exchange accounts and also makes an entry in your hosts file. The CCT is there to save you time and allow non-technical persons to easily configure their PC. We advise you use the CCT before attempting a manual configuration.
Installing the CCT
The CCT can be found either on the Outlook 2002 CD that comes with your blueyonder workwise hosted exchange order, or by the administrator for your company logging into the provisioning area.
The CCT will need to be installed on each PC that is going to have MSE setup on it. The customer can pass this file across their own network rather than downloading it every time they need to put it on a new PC.
Run the CCT and the following window will appear.
Click OK and proceed with the install.
Click next then select a folder for install most users are happy with the default folder although they may prefer to install to a different location. There is no need for the customer to keep the CCT once they are setup and working they may uninstall it at a later date if they dont want it.
Click next once youre happy with the location to install. The software will then install the whole package is less than 5 Mb so it shouldnt take more than a minute or two to install.
When its installed click Next to continue.
Next then close to exit. Users of older Windows OSs should restart their machines. The CCT is now installed. There should be an icon like an American style postbox on the PCs desktop now as follows:
Running the Client Configuration Tool
Once installed you can now run the CCT to configure an Outlook profile and their hosts file.
1) Double click the CCT icon
2) Click Next to create a new Outlook Profile
3) Enter the Username for the licence that you are setting up. Then click next.
4) Click Next to choose to make a new profile. Normally the new profile should be the default profile.
5) Click Next to update the hosts file. If youve already run the CCT on this machine it may be unnecessary to update the hosts file however it doesnt do any harm to do it twice.
6) Youll be offered a chance to review your selection. Click Next then Finish. The CCT will now create the profile for the user.
7) The CCT will connect to the MSE service and create the profile. Once this has been completed you will get a message to confirm that the profile has been setup. You can then close the CCT.
